London, England

England is famous for many things – Big Ben, The Royal Family, Red Buses, The Beatles and of course David Beckham.

England is a great place I would suggest to visit. A country filled with rich history! A English accent that many of us love! The British are said to be reserved in manners, dress and speech. They are famous for our politeness, self-discipline and especially for their sense of humor. You sure will come across all of this once you are in London, England! So do not get offended if some one approaches you and says ‘hi love’ or ‘dearie’

From the many places that I have visited, in London, England, manners are VERY important! The basic ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ are used more often than you would ever see in any other country, something that I personally have noticed.

I have been to (London) England and spent a week and enjoyed it a lot. So let me share a few perks with you who are thinking about going to London, England for a Holiday!

You sure will get a glimpse of London, England as soon as you arrive at the airport. It is the world’s busiest international airport – London Heathrow serves over 180 destinations in more than 90 countries.

Once you are off from the airport in England and driving to where your destination is, it sure is a beautiful drive on the road. I sure noticed the roads in North America, which are bigger and the ones in Europe are smaller and narrow. I was surprised and wonder how people can drive in such roads! The beautiful cottages and houses along the road sides and the farms that spread for miles sure is eye catching. It feels if you are away from the busy life and in a setting where it is so relaxing and you can breathe. The air itself feels so refreshing once you are in London, England.

Contrary to popular belief, it DOES NOT rain every day in England or in the rest of the UK! However, it is always advisable to bring some type of waterproof clothing and keep yourself psychologically prepared! If you like to enjoy the sun, the best months to go is July and August to visit London, England. You would also be surprised to know that there are 250 languages spoken in London, England alone!

Here are some great places that I personally visited and would recommend to any age to go have a look in London, England:

The Stonehenge

This is a very famous landmark in London, England and a must see! It is the most famous prehistoric monument in Britain and is situated on Salisbury Plain in the county of Wiltshire. People began building Stonehenge about 5,000 years ago, dragging each stone into place. (If you have time, please do a search on the net for pics, I am sure you will enjoy and be intrigued with what you see).

The Buckingham Palace

It is the London home of the British Royal family. The 600 room palace is surrounded by a 40 acre garden. A beautiful building. You might get a glimpse of the Queen, but I suggest you just get a post card. One thing that you will be able to see it the changing of the guards. This is something pretty unique and if you get the chance, go and see. Try to make one of those guards to laugh, you will never get it done.

The Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle has been a royal residence for over 900 years and today is one of the homes of Queen Elizabeth ll. The royal standard flies from the round tower of the Castle when the Queen is in residence. Just a clue for who wants to see that glimpse of the queen!

The Palace of Westminster

The Palace of Westminster also known as the Houses of Parliament is where the two Houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom (the House of Lords and the House of Commons) conduct their sittings. The Palace lies on the north bank of the River Thames in the London borough of the City of Westminster.

The London Eye (one of my favorites)

The London Eye next to County Hall is another of London’s most modern landmarks. It is the world’s biggest ferries wheel and will carry 800 passengers at a time on a thirty-minute ride. From its highest point of 450 feet, it promises views of up to 25 miles. It sure is a spectacular view!

Madam Tuso’s Wax Museum (another favorite)

Experience the glittering world of fame for a day at Madame Tuso’s. This is great for any age. I sure had some people convinced that I met Prince Harry, and Will Smith! You would be amazed how real life they have made these sculptures.

Now there are many other places to visit and see, but thought I share the ones that I went and saw and enjoyed very much while visiting London, England!

As for places to eat, you will find a endless list of places and each and every one has food that you will for sure enjoy! So do not be afraid of having limited places to have a evening dinner, you will never loose out but have so many to choose from.

If you love to shop like I do  make no mistake you are in the right place. If you are wanting to get those glamorous outfits that you see on the runway as well, London, England will have it. Now shoes…London has shoes! I got lots so I suggest if you need shoes…browse through the stores and you will find affordable and quality shoes!
