As we travel the world, we see spectacular buildings, architecture, art, and statues. While I was traveling in Sri Lanka, I had the opportunity to see a statue that was beyond my imagination. I was in the city of Kurunegala – an ancient Royal capital of Sri Lanka for 50 years in the 13th century. This amazing statue of Lord Buddha is 88 feet tall and is built on top of The Elephant Rock, the largest of eight large rocks in Kurunegala. Once you are by the statue, you can get a 360 degree spectacular view of the whole city of Kurunegala. It is just breath taking!
