Udawalawe National Park Photos, Sri Lanka

As nature and animal lovers, we search for appealing wildlife destinations. So let me introduce you to one of the most popular national parks in Sri Lanka – Udawalawe National Park. The park is only a few hours drive from the capital city of Colombo. It’s a mixture of grasslands, forest, river and wild animals. You will find wild elephants roaming around here. If you’re lucky, you will see a large herd of elephants. While elephants are the main attraction, you can also see wild peacocks, eagles, kingfishers, deer, wild buffalo and occasional leopard. There is a river when you go deep in to the jungle where you can take a dip to wind down. You must go inside with a tour guide, and it’s for your own safety. Here are some pictures of my visit to the amazing Udawalawe National Park.

  5. Love the elephants but that peacock’s darling.
Wonder how close the river is and whether it’s protected from the animals.

Preserving wildlife is one thing that a country or city should have. A national park is one of them but it really needs to take good care of the animals. Like what Lolong the largest crocodile in the world accoding to guiness book of record who died in the national park of the Philippines.

  12. Any place where it’s required to have a guide for your own safety sounds pretty exciting. Udawalawe National Park sounds & looks like a great experience. I would love to see the wild elephants, especially.
