We all love animals but sometimes people go to the wrong extreme when it comes to making a few dollars with animals. This story is of such extreme.
Airport authorities at Bangkok’s International Airport has recently arrested a woman after finding a live tiger cub being drugged and hidden among stuffed toy tiger in her suitcase! The woman has been identified as Piyawan Palasarn, a woman of Thai origin who was flying from Thailand to Iran. She has checked in to her flight with an oversize bag. When it was sent through x-ray, it has showed that there is a live animal inside.
The little tiger cub is said to be about 3 months old and was sent to the Wildlife Conservation Center in Bangkok. The cub has appeared exhausted, dehydrated and unable to walk when found. After giving oxygen, water and lactation the cub appear to be doing much better. The cub is being monitored closely.
As for the adventurous woman, she faces about 4 years in prison with a $1,300 fine. This adventure seems not new to her as she has done this before as well.
Tiger cubs can be sold for about $3,200 on the black market in Iran, where it is popular to have exotic pets!
Personally I think since we humans have the right to live freely where we please, wild animals too should be in their own habitat living as they please, and not in some one’s house, caged!
