One of the major concerns any solo female traveler has is safety, especially when the destination is far from home. Some of the questions often asked are how safe are the streets to travel, what is the crime rate, and is it safe to travel alone during the night. However, these doesn’t necessarily stop women from traveling alone to other countries. Furthermore, tourism has grown on many destinations in Asia Pacific, catching the attention of travelers including solo female travelers. To make the research of travel safety easier, Retire in Asia has designed an infographic with the 10 safest countries in Asia Pacific for women to travel alone. Each country has a breakup of the statistics related to their safety.

What a useful post! It’s been awhile since I’ve traveled solo but I totally agree and not surprised with Singapore being #1. I was there in the late 90s and felt so safe. Passing this along to solo female travelers.

It seems we all agree on Singapore being the safest :) Thanks for sharing with others, Mary!
Nice infographics! I agree with Singapore, but why is there nothing about the Philippines? LOL Taiwan is not safe now for Filipinos, but I would really LOVE to go to NZ!

I’m not sure as to why but I’m sure it’s safe. Hope you get to visit NZ soon!
Hi Salika, good tips. Will pass it on to my sole female travelers friends.
Thank you, Marisol!
I would definitely add China there as I’ve been to many Asian countries and this is the safest place ever, much safer than Vietnam I would say. Never been to Singapore but I hope to make it there soon!

Thanks for the suggestion, Agness. Singapore felt very safe even at night.
Good tips – and interesting to see the safety rating. No surprise with Singapore being the safest :)

True about Singapore, and I felt in while there too.
Great tips Salika. And sadly necessary considering what has just happened in India.
Indeed. Thanks for dropping by, Mette!
