Travel Photo: Buddhist Chaitya in Dambulla, Sri Lanka

Traveling takes you to many places. Everything from safari adventures, beach holidays to romantic getaways. This was the time in my travels which took me to a Buddhist temple in Dambulla, Sri Lanka. The city of Dambulla is thought to be inhabited from as early as the 7th to 3rd century BC. Dambulla is famous for the Dambulla Temple where I visited and captured this picture of Chaitya (Buddhist shrine). This is  used to denote assembly or prayer hall in Buddhist culture.

I agree Reyah that such travel is enjoyable. Historical travel is something most of us tend to pass, but once in awhile taking a trip like this really makes us appreciate our history.

Great composition. Also, love the blue of the sky that matches the other blues in the photo.
