You never know who will come knocking at your door, or in this case who will be in your backyard playing on top of the trees. I had the pleasure of capturing this monkey playing on top of a papaya tree one afternoon. These monkeys are called Toque Monkeys, and they are endemic to Sri Lanka. Locals call these monkeys Rilawa. They are usually in groups and sometimes up to 20 in a group. These monkeys can be seen in many areas of Sri Lanka where there are lot of trees.
Don’t these monkeys like to steal something from houses? While I’m not really scared of the wild ones, I’m wary of them, as I know they grab anything they can find.

Luckily these ones were just playing. I guess they have plenty of food in the trees. On tourist destinations though, they like to bug people for food. Then again they are not afraid of people because they feed these monkeys.
