The natural beauty of Banff Calgary draws many tourists throughout the year. If you are visiting British Columbia or Alberta during your Canada trip, one place you must visit is Banff. It is a wonderful getaway for the city’s residents. The Town of Banff is in the province of Alberta and set in the heart of Canadian Rockies. Towering over the plains of Alberta and British Columbia are the peaks of the Canadian Rocky Mountains – mighty, rugged and exquisite. This nature town is surrounded by mountain parkland and wilderness, the community really does share its space with the wildlife.

Weather In Banff
The weather throughout Calgary, Canadian Rockies and around Banff is extremely variable due to the high altitude. The rugged mountain topography is also a factor for this. The summer season usually has low humidity. Fall sees diminishing daylight hours and warm days with cool evening winds. Although it can and sometimes does snow at any time of the year, the first “real” snow generally begins to fall in November. Followed by that comes the real winter. Rain and warm temperatures begin to melt winter away from the valleys in April as the Spring begins.
Banff Calgary Attractions
With everything the city has to offer for visitors, I will list few Banff attractions I really enjoyed. Relaxation is an integral part of any holiday. Banff offers several great ways to seek relaxation through a selection of hot springs and spas. The opportunity to soak in soothing hot, 100% natural spring water surrounded by magnificent mountain views is just amazing.
The city is famous for its natural beauty. This is why you cannot miss the wildlife when you are here. Animals are abundant and you are sure to catch a glimpse of elk, deer, bighorn sheep, bears, coyotes, wolves, marmots and ground squirrels.
Banff Tours
If you like to explore the town, carriage rides are a fun and romantic way to roam around the town. You also have the option of taking a boat tour, which is a simple way to explore the magnificent surrounding area.
The Gondola Ride is a must do when you’re at Banff Calgary. This gondola offers an 8-minute ride to the summit of Sulfur Mountain. It’s at an elevation of 7486 feet. At the summit there is an observation deck with several outdoor terraces. Not just that, there is also a restaurant and a gift shop. An incredible vantage point for sure.
If you like to explore from the ground, then take a tour in the ‘Ice Explorer’. It is a tour of Columbia Ice field for about 90 minutes in a specialized truck. This tour comes with a guide who will tell you all the interesting things you need to know. It is an unmissable experience.

Spent a couple days in Banff as I cycled across Canada. So stunning….loved the landscapes and the people! Didn’t end up doing brunch at the Fairmont, but a hot apple cider on the deck overlooking the views….worth it!
