When it comes to hotels, resorts and villas I’m the biggest fan. In fact, I’m more excited to find out what they offer than the actual trip itself. So whenever I hear about a fabulous hotel, I want to check it out and see what it offers us travelers. That being said, let me introduce you to a fabulous new hotel in Galle, Sri Lanka that has made waves over the past few months – Cantaloupe Aqua. I would describe this tranquil hotel in Galle by saying it is a stylish hotel with a vibe of calm oasis filled with aquamarine. Best of all, it is very close to Unawatuwa beach – one of the best beaches in down-south Sri Lanka and a mere 20 minutes drive from Galle Fort – the number one attraction in Galle.

As soon as you enter the gate, you are greeted with the soothing & refreshing ocean breeze. You will notice the white archways to the Lobby area and the ocean too. Keep walking towards the reception where you will be treated with a glass of fresh tropical coconut water. Sip your drink and be surrounded by sheer white interior that is stylish, modern and echos ‘enjoy this paradise…!’

Cantaloupe Aqua offers you sun, ocean, relaxation, calmness and fun. This hotel in Galle has a private beach where you can enjoy the blue waters and dig your feet in the sandy beach. When you are done, the pool awaits you to jump in and relax. Or else you can just lay down on a bench and enjoy the sun. When the sun sets in the evening, the atmosphere turns up a notch from relaxation to fun. Dimmed lights come on, music goes up and the drinks start coming out. There is no need to worry about getting interrupted because Cantaloupe Aqua is secluded (in a good way that is).

Then you’re in trouble because they have 24-hour room service ;) Just pray it would rain, if you stay in the room. But you should at least chill out in the lounge area and enjoy the fresh sea breeze and free Wi-Fi :)

It really looks like a bit of paradise here on earth. I love the clean look of the ocean suite. I’m so intrigued to find out how the regular rooms look like. If I get the suite, I might never want to venture out. :)

I spent the first night in Aqua Zen Ocean suite. It sure is very nice and has a nice light system with a remote. It can turn in to your own private club/lounge at night. With a private balcony and ocean view, it is the perfect suite, I’d say. I bet you wouldn’t want to leave this suite ;) Deluxe rooms are simple but very nice and neat with private balcony and ocean view too.
